WHERE TO STAY
WHERE TO STAY
Unlike Camp Unger 2005, where all guests stayed in bunks on the campground and all activities were programmed, this time, there will be 1 group activity each day...leaving the rest of the time to explore the city on your own.
Guests will stay in hotels and Airbnb's around the city center and Frederiksberg. Copenhagen is a small city where almost anything is a 15-minute bike ride away at most. Most hotels are located in "Indre By", the city center where you'll find tons of bars and restaurants, Tivoli, lots of tourists, and the Strøget...the typical European huge pedestrian shopping street with lots of chains.
For those of you who would like more of a local feel and expect to mostly use a bike to get around, we recommend staying in Frederiksberg (the Brooklyn of CPH). Imagine if Williamsburg was a 5-minute bike ride from Brooklyn Heights. This area has many fun micro-hoods with coffee shops, bars, restaurants, boutique shopping and more. You can see where the action is on the map below…Frederiksberg is to the left of the lakes. The city center is to the right of them.
AIRBNB
A great option for parties with more than 2 guests, and anyone who prefers to stay in Frederiksberg. Apartments there are usually very Danish: stylish, charming and classic Scandinavian...with tons of natural light and windows.
Details to note while browsing listings:
-Number of bathrooms (Usually only 1)
-Elevator and Floor (Likely no elevator with a multi-floor walk-up)
(If u can beat either one of those, you’re winning big time. Also, sometimes they come with bikes, which is a nice bonus.)
-Cancellation Policies (Some renters will let you cancel just a few days before. Others don't let you cancel.)
Here are 2 Airbnb wishlists (mostly in Frederiksberg) that will give u a sense where to look and have good options and range of prices. The 2nd list has a number of options for larger groups or if you want to find get a big place where multiple parties can stay together.
HOTELS
These options are all within the main part of the city. Take note if they offer complimentary bikes.

This new neighborhood is on the water in the northern part of the city. It's a little further out so rates tend to be better. If you've been to Copenhagen before and want to check out something new, this could be for you.
